READING, UK — BG Group has agreed to acquire 30% interest in Colombia’s Guajira Offshore 3 block, subject to approval from the government’s Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos.

In the Santos basin offshore Brazil, where BG is in partnership with Petrobras, production from three FPSOs exceeded 160,000 boe/d at the end of 2013, the company says, with each well on FPSOs 2 and 3 flowing over 30,000 boe/d.

The first buoyancy supported riser (BSR) and two associated steel catenary risers have been connected to FPSO 2. Production from new wells on this vessel should start during the current quarter.

On FPSO 3, the second BSR has been installed and all permanent tethers are in place. Connection of new production wells to the vessel should get under way in 2Q 2014.

Last month a temporary flexible riser was installed between FPSO 3 and the P4 well on the Lula NE field, which is now delivering around 60,000 boe/d from two producers.

FPSOs 4 and 5, to be deployed on the Sapinhoá and Iracema fields, are around 88% and 80% complete, respectively. Both are in Brazil for topsides integration, and should be installed offshore during the second half of this year.

BG adds that Abaré, Abaré Oeste, Iguaçu, and Iguaçu-Mirim areas have all been relinquished to Brazil’s ANP agency.
